Avenue House Surgery

109 Saltergate, Chesterfield S40 1LE, UK – 01246 244040

I attended the surgery as the doors opened on Tuesday morning after suffering all night with redpiratory problems. I was hoping to be able to get an appointment but instead was rushed straight through to receive emergency treatment. The doctor's and nursing staff were magnificent and I was scared and very grateful for their help. Couldn't, have asked for better treatment.

Up to date and forward thinking at this surgery. If you want to see a specific doctor you may have to wait several days but appointments are quick if you're not fussy.

Hasland Medical Centre

1 Jepson Rd, Hasland, Chesterfield S41 0NZ, UK – 01246 277973

Best GP i have had. Having Mental Health problems from a child i have some very bad experiences when it comes to dealing with GP's. I moved to the area and registered with Hasland Medical and spoke to Dr Ratcliffe and oulined my problems. The level of care and attention i have recieved has been nothing short of outstanding. She takes time to listen to my problems, and is considerate to the challenges i have. The dedication she has shown is far beyond what i expected, and with the rise of reported problems where mental health is becoming more of a focused subject of debate. Hasland Medical and Dr Ratcliffe have set a benchmark on how Mental Health should be tackled.

Medium-sized GP practice with a number of doctors, both male and female, nurses, midwifery services, phlebotomist, health visitor and access to district nurses, etc. The practice is becoming part of a group surgery (from April 2018), merging with Hasland Surgery and the Avenue House practice). Entrance is wheelchair accessible, with an automatic door, toilet which is wheelchair accessible, and a medium-sized waiting room. The majority of the consulting rooms are downstairs, though there are a few services that are upstairs (though staff can sometimes re-arrange rooms for patients who are unable to manage the stairs). Currentlysom there is no lift but (at February 2018) building work has just started to extend the building to provide more services and to install a lift. The surgery has a small free car park, and the surgery is on a bus route, with a bus stop just at the front of the surgery.

NHS Direct is now NHS 24. Just dial 111 to speak to a professional or click the link below for there self help website. Lots of really useful info but keep clear of heart surgery! If in doubt ask your GP or call 111. Good luck.
