Chesterfield Borough Council

Town Hall, Rose Hill, Chesterfield S40 1LP, UK – 01246 345345

HQ of Chesterfield Borough Council and seat of local government for the borough of Chesterfield. The town hall is the main office for Chesterfield Borough Council, a number of voluntary sector organisations, and from 2018 (the building is currently undergoing internal renovations) the home of the Register Office for births, deaths, and marriages. The building is of historical significance - built in 1935, it's a replica of Stormont, Northern Ireland's parliament building, a scaled down size. It isn't as large as Stormont, but has a near identical frontage. It has a number of meeting rooms that can be hired by external organisations. The meeting rooms are walnut panelled, and the decoration of the town hall has an Egyptian theme, with the ceilings decorated with lotus flowers. The furniture of the meeting rooms was specifically designed for the town hall. Disabled access is via a ramp down to the basement for the voluntary sector organisations based there, and a ramped entrance to the rest of the building, both at the east end entrance (the end closest to the town centre). At the top of a hill, on Rose Hill, the town hall overlooks Shentall Gardens and has a great view. There are four pay and display car parks close to the town hall, two directly behind the town hall, with disabled parking close to the rear of the building. There is limited on-street parking at the front of the town hall.

MTS - Mercury Technical Solutions Ltd

Turnoaks Business Park, Brittania Rd, Chesterfield S40 2WB, UK – 01246 272797

After being recommended to us from a neighbouring school, we asked MTS to provide us with prices for various Smartboard & Promethean Whiteboards with projectors. From the start Mark Nolan was extreamley helpfull and offered the most cost effective way we could acheive our goals. Despite knowing our budget MTS did not oversell any products, which allowed us to get all aspects of the work completed and even left some money for 4 new laptops. The service MTS offered was excellent. The installations were of the highest standard and products were of a higher specification at a lower price than we had been quoted before. Therefore we would not hesitate to use MTS again for our future audio visual and ICT requirements. Dave

Some staff are ok and really helpful. Others are woeful and dont listen to you. They make you feel like you are beneath them. Security are brilliant and have time to talk to you and make feel welcome and less stressed out about your visit.
